Hill teachers threaten to join cease work strike

IMPHAL, Dec 3: All Manipur Hill Teachers’ Association, which had extended solidarity to the ongoing cease work strike launched by the Councils of Teachers’ Association (COTA) demanding implementation of the 6th Revised Central pay, decided to intensify the agitation if government remained adamant and ignored the teachers’ demand.

A statement by All Manipur Hills Teachers, Association, emphasised the genuinity of the cease work strike of the COTA and is supported fully by every level of the teachers’ communities in the hill districts of the state.

It said the matter is a serious concern of the teachers of both hills and valley districts.

It further said present attitude of government is a blunder and it must bear the responsibility of all eventualities during their strike will be borned by the government, the statement added.
