IMPHAL Dec 15: The 19th Imphal Book Fair 2010 organised by State Central Library, Imphal in collaboration with Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation, Kolkatta kicked off today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound. The 19th Imphal book fair will end on December 24, 2010.
In the opening function, Th Parijat, minister health attended as chief guest while Dr K Sobita Devi, director Arts & Culture, Government of Manipur was functional president.
In his speech Parijat expressed that this is the best chance for students and peoples of Manipur by and large to buy books by the best authors.
Although the organisers prepared 100 stalls, however only 32 stalls opened till today. Out of 32 stall 10 were of outside agencies mostly from Guwahati, Kolkatta and Delhi.
