JAC Longmai suspends economic blockade along NH-53

IMPHAL, Dec 15: The  proposed indefinite economic blockade imposed by the Joint Action Committee Longmai Village, Nungba sub-division, Tamenglong district along the National Highway 53 in connection with the failure to distribute funds for the NREGS has been suspended temporarily from December 14 midnight owing to the Christmass season and in the interest of the public.
According to the statement of JAC Longmai village, the committeestrongly condemned the barbarian act of the security guard of MPCC president Gaikhangam and Soihem Haomei, chairman ADC, Temaneglong district on December 8 at Noneh 9 (Longmai) village.
The statement further mentioned that being denied the repeated request of Longmai people Gaikhangam flately made a statement at the workers conference that there was no misuse of NREGS fund meant for Longmai bazaar Board. Gaikhangam’s statement compelled Longmai villagers to imposed indefinite Economic Blockade on National Highway – 53.

  1. If u guys want to fight u fight in this crucial moment also. WHy do u hav to suspend the strikes. You guys should not think about the present condition only. Wat will the govt think if u suspend it now. You guys should try to prove that you really meant wat u demand. For festival You suspend the strike. NExt time they may think for some reason they will suspend the strike again. there would not be any momemtum for your fight. I think you guys are just loser who dont have better work to do in your life. If your fighting fight for your life so that they understand you. During fight dont take rest u will lose only.
