JAC says late driver’s wife took money to wind up murder case

IMPHAL, Dec 3: The Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the murder of Lourembam Rajesh, a bulldozer driver who was found hanged at Khongman Zone II residence of Hijam Pakasana, owner of the bulldozer on July 22 last has claimed that the wife of the deceased and two other persons without the knowledge of the JAC have compromised the issue by taking money from the dozer owner in connection with the ongoing court case.

Th Nilamani, general secretary of the JAC while briefing media persons today at Manipur Press Club regarding the matter has alleged that Lourembam Dineswori along with two other accomplice namely Potshangbam Tomba of Bishnupur ward no 8 and Sanatomba of Kwakta Siphai on October 22 conveyed a press conference expressing that she had wrongly implicated the bulldozer owner and have withdrawn the case against him regarding the dead of her husband. They are understood to have taken a sum of Rs 1 lakh from Hijam Pakasana, owner of the dozer, the JAC alleged.

The JAC spokesperson further said that there were no intimation from the family about taking money to the JAC. Accusing the three person including wife of the late driver of fraudulent activities, the JAC appealed all concerned authorities to look into the matter and punish the guilty.

It may be mentioned that Hijam Pakasana, owner of the bulldozer informed late bullzoder drivers’ family about his death on July 22 after he was called away by the owner some days back to go to Ukhrul. In connection with the killing, family members of the deceased had filed a criminal case against the owner, Hijam Pakasana.
