    IMPHAL, Dec 30: M Tombi Singh, was appointed as president of Manipur state unit Janata Dal (United) by the JD(U) president Sharad Yadav, MP and convenor, National Democratic Alliance (NDA),with immediate effect from December 23 last.
    According to a release, the central leaders have full faith that under the newly appointed state president, the state unit will deliver the aspiration of the common people for the better governance and proper solutions in the state of Manipur.
    The release further mentioned that, the Manipur state unit executive members of JD(U) would like to extend a hearty welcome and congratulation to the newly elected JD(U) Manipur state unit president. Further in due course of time new party executive office bearers would be constituted and all party frontal organizations will be re-organised for grass root level political expansions. The state JD(U) will soon organize a reception programme for the new executive members and warm reception of prominent political leaders from other political parties, the release added.
