IMPHAL, Dec 2: Extending solidarities by the teacher communities of the hill districts of the state to the ongoing cease works strike launched by the Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) have been resulting in the complete paralyzed of different government schools in both hills and valley district at present.

Even if the cease work strike of Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) in connection with their demands for the in toto implementation of Sixth Revised Central pay in the state has entered 18 days today there is no positive responses from the state government till today.

In the meantime, according to a release of the association, the ongoing cease work strike of the COTA is one of their final resorts of agitation and appeal the state government to give away their demands instead of making efforts to stop the ongoing strike.

The release further mentioned that the present cease strike is to prevent any irregularities to ROP of the employees of the state which comes once in 10 years. It would be possible to face serious inconveniences by the teachers of the state if they fails to reflect the proper structures of the teachers of the state to the existing ROPs which the state government is preparing for.

The release further mentioned that, the people of the state are now aware of the reason why COTA has been entering cease work strike in the state at present, besides the teachers community during the last prolonged cease work strike launched in the state by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO for the implementation of sixth Revised Central Pay in the state, did not joint the past cease work strike of the JAC after considering the student community of the state, the COTA instead of entering cease work strike, they have launched their agitation like Jail Bharo, mass sit-in-protest whilke showing the moral support to the strike of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO in those days.

The release further mentioned that, after due considerations to the total negligence of the state it was compels for the COTA to choose the cease work strike agitation and this was symbolic agitations to show their concerned over the violations of their rights, the release added.

The release further mentioned that, it was very unfortunate that state government could not consider the employees of the state as their own family, and it seem quite contradict for the state government which fails to announce to implement sixth Revised Central pays to the employees and teachers as announced by the chief ministers of other north eastern state to encourage the working spirits of their respective employees. Thus appeal the state government to initiate implementation of the sixth Revised Central Pay to the employees instead of taking attempts to stop the ongoing cease work strike of the teachers of the state, the release added.
