IMPHAL, Dec 22: The Manipur Peoples Party has submitted a memorandum to the commissioner, State Election Commission, Government of Manipur asking the government to take appropriate necessary action against the independent candidate Seram Sanatomba of the ensuing Nagar Panchayat election for violating the code of conduct. As per the memorandum submitted by the General Secretary, MPP there is an apprehension that the election for the Nagar Panchayat and Municipal Council for Lilong Ward No.6 scheduled for January 3,2011 will not be held fairly due to the warning and threatening the M.P.P candidate received asking them not to file their nomination papers on December 13. Apparently, four persons namely, Karam Maipak, Mutum Gonel, Paonam Budha and Wangkhem Jadu after threatening the party members pulled the party flag and threw it into the drain humiliating the party. The M.P.P further stated that the very fact of obstructing the house to house campaigning and threatening they would kill the M.P.P candidate if they dishonored their order is wrong and has further demanded that Seram Sanatomba and his supporters be booked under the law.
