IMPHAL, Dec 21: Imphal West district commandos led by Dy SP (ops) S Ibomcha Singh has today conducted a search cordoned operation at various places located inside the heart of the Imphal city as a part of preventive measurements of the 9th Session (Winter Session) of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly starting from tomorrow and the approaching Christmas celebration.
The first such search cordon operation was conducted at the Paona Bazar areas and the CDO personnel further pulled down numerous illegal alcohol vendors located in shoddy hotels behind the Mapal Kangjeibung.
A similar pull down of illegal alcohol vendors was conducted at Thangal Bazar areas. The CDO personnel also rounded up various suspected youths from the Thangal Bazar areas at a vacant lot North of Dharamsala for verifications. The team further separated the suspected youths without any valid identity cards and detained them for further verification; however the team freed them all later.
