SF arrest 3 UGs, one overground worker

IMPHAL, Dec 3: Security forces arrested at least two militant cadres and two overground cadres in separate counter insurgency operation launched in different part of the state.

A statement issued by the PRO IGAR (S), stated that discovering the presence of UG cadres in general area Jemol of Ukhrul district, troops of 23 Assam Rifles and 33 Assam Rifles under HQ IGAR (South) launched a joint operation and apprehended two cadres of the proscribed KCP (MC-L Khunman group) at around 1:30 am today.

The apprehendees were identified as Heman Rajeshowar alias Boyai, 27 son of H Jugin Singh of Oksongkung Lairenjam Lekai, Moirang and Kiyam Ibomcha alias Ramesh, son of K Iboyaima of Jemol. Both of them has ben handed over to Moirang Police Station.

Meanwhile, according to a release of the SP, Imphal East, a team of Imphal East district police commandos arrested one KCP (MC) cadre identified as Ningthoujam Jiten Singh alias Agang, 32 son of N Yaima Singh of Keirelphabi Mamang Leikai from Langol Housing Complex at around 8 am.

On the other hand, a release of the SP Imphal West said a combined team of Imphal West district police commandos and 33 AR under the supervision of DSP (ops), Imphal West arrested one overground worker from the western side of Shamushang Santipur Lake and recovered various arms and ammunition from the area.

The arrested OGW is identified as Salam Santi Singh, 45, son of Tompokchao Singh of Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai.

The release has further stated that, one rubber tube containing three nos of AK 56 Rifles, six nos of magazine, two nos of Chinese hand grenades and 284 rounds of AK ammunition were recovered from the area on his direction.
