Tangkhuls and Kukis play friendship match in X-mas spirit

    UKHRUL, Dec.20:  In preparation for Christmas and in the spirit of`forgetting the past hostilities, a “Peace and Friendship Reconciliation” foot-ball match was played Between Kuki-11 versus Tangkhul 11 soccer teams today at Ukhrul Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) organized by the Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA).
    The event is the first in the history of Nagas and Kukis after the past communal clash record.
    The friendly soccer match had a core theme of “Contineous Process of Establishing Goodwill Towards Each Other”.
    The match was played in excellent game spirit among the players and showed a remarkable beginning of “love-bonding” among the two tribes, which was applauded and appreciated by a large crowd of soccer fans.
    The organizing committee, Ukhrul elders, public leaders and general public at large witnessing the foot-ball match were one in opion that that the “friendly Soccer Match” really signifies the everlasting “compassion relationship” in the days to come and the same views and affectionate feelings too were shared by the Kuki tribe representatives.
    The match ended with Tangkhul 11 beating Kuki-11 3-1.
    Interestingly Kuki-11 with the Jersey number 18 scored the first goal in a penalty-kick just 2 minutes after the game began whereas the Tangkhul 11 with the Jersey Number 18 scored 2 goals and one by Jersey 7.
