IMPHAL, Dec 24: Two cadres of underground PREPAK were apprehended by the team of Thoubal District police commandos during frisking and checking at Kakching Chummang Leikai yesterday evening.
The arrested PREPAK cadres were identified as, Yumkhaibam Momocha Singh, 27, son of Y Boro Singh of Laimanai Makha Leikai and Nameirakpam Bobi Singh, 40, son of N Babudhon Singh of Singjamei Chingamathak Hao Ground.
During the preliminary questioning they disclosed that they are the active member of the PREPAK and working in Finance section of the outfit the release of SSP Thoubal added.
In a seperate incident discovering the movement of militant cadres from Imphal to Moreh Via NH-39 on 23 Dec 2010, troops of 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation along NH – 39 and apprehended one PREPAK(Shanti) cadre from a Maruti van bearing registration No. MN 01W 1805 moving from Imphal to Moreh at 12:30 pm on 23 Dec 10.
A release of the PRO has identified the apprehendee as Abujam Kanak Kumar Singh, 29 yrs, s/o Abhujam Noresh Singh, r/o Yumnam Huidrom, Wangoi, Imphal West. The apprehendee was handed over to Imphal West Police Station.
