IMPHAL, Dec 6: Security forces arrested two underground cadres in separate counter insurgency operations from the state yesterday. According to a release of the SP, Imphal East district a team of CDO, Imphal East arrested one PREPAK cadre on December 5 at around 8:00 am fromNingomthongjao bridge.
It has further identified the arrested cadre as one Laishram Lakpati Singh alias Ibomcha, 38, son of L Tomba of khongman Lisam Leirak Zone III.
The team has also recovered one 9 mm Pistol Smith and Wesson loaded with two live rounds bearing No. TCP 680LMOD 3906 made in USA from the arrested cadre.
On verification, the arrested cadre disclosed that he joined the organization in the month of March theough one Thokchom Kanta alias Kant Singh of Bashikhong Lamlomg Mari Phangba and is presently working under his command. He also disclosed that he was involved in extortion of money from general public and provided shelter to PREPAK cadres and transported arms and ammunition for the party, added the release.
In another incident, a separate team of the Imphal East police commandos arrested a KCP (MC) cadre at around 5:30 am from Urup Makha Leikai near Leitan Makhong.
According to a separate release of the SP, Imphal East district, the arrested cadre has been identified as one Md Ajib Khan alias Thoicha, 20, son of Md Ushmein of Urup Makha Leikai.
On further verification he disclosed that he is an active member of KCP (MC) alem Nganba Meitei group and was involved in the hijacking of a passenger Tata Magic from Imphal to Wangjing.
He further disclosed that he is also involved in extortion of money from the general public, govt official, businessmen etc and as working under the command of Md kora alias Altab Khan, 33, son of Md Kadhir Khan of Urup Awang Leikai of the party, added the release.
