IMPHAL, Jan 31: Yet another 14 teachers of the Council of Teachers Association (COTA) who have been staging fast unto death at Keishampat Junction have been arrested while another 100 teachers have been sent to Jail.
At the same time, another 15 teachers have took over the fast unto death to continue the agitation of the COTA, informed a statement of the COTA.
It said that despite the arrest about 100 teachers each from both the valley and hill districts are voluntarily preparing to continue the fast adding any unwanted incident arising out of the prevailing situation the Manipur Government must be held responsible, adds the statement.
The statement further said that the statement given by the Manipur Government stating that the state has no resource to give the 6th central pay commission to the teachers is baseless. It alleged that the all resource is being swindled by some people to fill their pockets.
