Assam Rifles recovers warlike stores and ganja

IMPHAL, Jan 19: Discovering the movement of terrorists  in general area Waikhong forest, troops of 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in general area yesterday. Subsequent search of the area resulting in recovery of one country made 9 mm Rifle, two AK 47 magazines, 37 live rounds of AK 47 ammunitions and eight fired cartridge case of AK 47 and 100 kgs of Ganja from the spot according to an official release of PRO IGAR (S), Imphal.
DASCO expresses gratitude to IGAR (S)
IMPHAL, Jan 19: Inspector General Assam Rifles-South (IGAR-South) has on January 13 visited 27 Assam Rifles in Sugnu and Pangantabi outpost of Manipur.
IGAR (S) Maj. Gen. CA Krishnan was accompanied by 9 sector Assam Rifles commander, Brig. Gajendra Prasad and VSM & 27 AR commandant, RR Singh on the occasion.
During the visit, Maj. Gen. CA Krishna interacted with the troops of 27 Assam Rifles, village authorities and the villagers where he encouraged the youths to participate in sports and games.
On the occasion the Maj. Gen. promised six footballs to Dulksenlown Athletics Sports and Cultural Organisation ( DASCO) (Dulksenlown Athletics, Social and Cultural Organization) Leingangching Youth Club which was handed over on behalf of Maj. Gen. CA Krishnan by Pangantabi post commander, assistant commandant RK Sharma 27 AR on January 18 for which DASCO has praised and expressed its gratitude, a release from DASCO said.
