Bomb blast at Mongshangei, KCP (MC) claims hand

    IMPHAL, Jan 20: Unidentified persons suspected to be militants exploded a powerful bomb last night around 10.pm near the 109 Bn CRPF camp at Mongsangei under Singjamei police station however there has been no report of any casualties.
    According to a local source, the blast caused apprehension amongst the villages in an around Mongshangei
    In the meantime, the proscribed KCP (MC) has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s bomb blast and further maintained that it was not a threat to the general public of Manipur but a show of strength to the Indian Security forces ahead of the coming Republic Day of India.
    A release of the proscribed group signed by its secy military affairs’ Lanheiba Meitei has further maintained that the blast in between Ningthemcha Karong and Monsangei was to show to the security forces that the outfit has enough strength and fire power to fight the revolutionary struggle and the explosion was a trial conducted by the 5th Special Demo Team of the Kangleipak Army of the KCP.
    It has further mentioned that the war will not end until the Indian army leaves the land or every Manipuri is dead. The process of revolution in the state will continue and the objective of the revolutionaries to restore and maintain the lost self determination has become a must and it is for this reason that various revolutionary groups of the state have been struggling against the Indian Union even though the Union has failed to understand the movement in the state, maintained the release.
    The release further added that the people of the region has been kept suppress by the Indian Union for more than 50 years .
