Lamka, Jan 7 : Though various schemes and programmes were launched by the goverenment of India at various points of time to benefit students particularly from the weaker sections of the society they have not actually been properly benefitted amply.
This has resulted from certain steps like centralisation of all government functions and machineries by the goverenment of Manipur which deprived the minorities of their due shares and oppurtunities coupled with centralisation of all centrally sponsored schemes in the state capital needs to be taken a sources has said .
In addition the highanded ness of gvernment officials towards the minority tribals and rampant and systematised corruption in the state which remains the gravest obstacles for the general welfare of minority students has to be done away with if the there has been a genuine desire on the part of the government to benefit them from all such august projects it adds  Inspite of this with a view to oversee the progress of works under the centrally sponsored schemes like the MsDP/ MOBC BC Khound , state level monitor , ministry of minority affairs & backward class commission , government of India has paid his maiden visit to the Churachandpur and inspected various places where various works are supposedly carried out
The Churachandpur District Students Union , CDSU, the apex student body submitted a memorundum to him in which it urged him to set up a minority cell , decentralised all the centrally sponsored schemes , ensure equity and equal distribution of goods and services to all sections of the society.
He was further requested to ensure justices and fairness in the implementation of Pre- matric scholarship scheme, merit-cum-mean scholarship scheme, scheme for free coaching and national minority development and finance corporation.
