IED found in thermos flask

IMPHAL Jan 9: a thermos flask containing an improvised explosive device was found concealed near Khordak Iron Bridge yesterday. The IED weighing about 7 kilograms was sniffed out by an army dog named Bheel.
The recovery was made during an operation by troops of the 33 Assam Rifles.
The IED has been handed over to Kumbi police, according to a PIB (DW) press release.
In another incident, troops of 5 AR successfully thwarted a hijack bid.
Unknown miscreats had hijacked a tata magic vehicle which was part of a police escorted convoy near Senapati town.
On learning about the hjack, the AR troops immediately swung into action and after a cordon operation, recovered the vehicle in the evening and were handed over to the driver.
This was the third such hijack attempt in the recent past that the Assam Rifles have foiled, stated the release.
