Inmate hurt during brawl at Sajiwa Jail, Manipur

IMPHAL, Jan 30: One inmate of the Sajiwa jail has been today taken to the JNIMS hospital with head injuries resulting from a fight between two inmates of the jail.
Sources have maintained that the seriously injured Hemam Rohit, 23, s/o H Tomba of Torbung village, Moirang was hit by another inmate identified as Seram Sunil, 29, s/o S Dinachandra of Phaknung village under Imphal East, using a stone.
It has been known that both individuals were hurt in the skirmishes however Sunil was discharged from the hospital after given first aid and taken back to the jail.
Further reports have stated that Seram Sunil has been lodged in the jail since last year following a conviction of a cold blooded murder.
Meanwhile no further information was available on the issue.
