IMPHAL, Jan 13: The 29th foundation day of Kangleipakki Meira (Evening Daily) was held today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.
The foundation day was graced by MLA Dr. Ng. Bijoy, Khogendra Khomdram, president of All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU), L. Pallando, director of agriculture, and BB Sharma, retired joint director of All India Radio, Imphal, as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Various awards were also presented in connection with the foundation day.
The best male journalist award has been conferred to Kshetri Meghajit of Naharolgi Thoudang, best female journalist award to Sorensangbam Sonia of Poknapham, best journalist in electronic media to Helendro Maibam of ISTV, best DIPR personnel to Lairenlakpam Ashok Kumar, best columnist to Nameirakpam Kalachand and best hawker to Chirom Biren.
