Three held by security forces

    IMPHAL, Jan 11: Security forces arrested at least three militant cadres in different counter insurgency operations launched in various part of the State during the last 24 hour.
    A statement issued by the PRO (IGAR) stated that discovering the presence of UG cadres in general area Khuropokpi, troops of 42 Assam Rifles launched operation along NH -39 and apprehended one KCP (MC) cadre from the general area of Khuropokpi at around 4.10 pm on January 10.
    The apprehended individual is identified as Noren Singh, 27, s/o Imocha Singh of Thamnapokpi,Lamlai, Imphal West  and was handed over to the Porampat Police station.
    It further added that 3 live rounds of 7.62 mm SLR and one Chinese Grenade were recovered from him.
    The statement further claimed that in yet another incident, troops of 23 Assam Rifles  and  12 Maratha Light launched  joint operation in the areas and apprehended  two KYKL cadres from the areas at around  01 am and 02.30  am on January 11 respectively.
    The apprehendees are identified as Leishram Sobha Singh, 32, s/o Late Akak Singh, r/o Houribi Mayai Leikai and Thoudam Gonakhesor, 35 yrs, S/o Th. Bound Chandra,Shantipur, Imphal West.
    Both the apprehendees were later handed over to Mayang Imphal Police station.
