Two shot dead, one car set on fire in separate incidents

IMPHAL, Jan 29: Morning joggers today  found a dead body later identified as Leithangbam Ranabir, 20, s/o Ibopishak of Heirangoithong Mutum leirak, from a drainage system running adjacent to the Catholic School Canchipur under Singjamei PS.
The dead body was found with a bullet injury on the left side of his head and his tongue ablated and the missing part of his tongue was found some five feet away from his body. Three empty cases of 9mm pistol cartridge and a projectile was also found lying near the dead body.
In the meantime, Ibopishak father of the dead person stated that his son who is a mason had left home yesterday evening around 4 pm with around Rs 400. He further maintained that his son had spent some time at a state jail in relation to illegal drug use.
He has further appealed to all concerned to clarify on the killing of his son at the earliest possible.
Meanwhile unidentified persons today shot dead a person at Kamong Meisnam Maning leikai under Nambol PS.
A report has maintained that a car with registration number MN06- L- 0144 was also found from around from near the dead person. According to the vehicle RC book, the victim could be one Huidrom Subhash of Ishok Nambol.
In yet another violent incident reported from the state today, a Santro car having registration no MN06- L- 4137 was today set on fire today morning at around 9 am at a place near the Ngarian Chingyang (inter district road) under Irilbung PS. The incident is suspected to be related to monetary demand made to the owner of the vehicle, Sanabam Ingoucha of Yairipok Vishnu Naji.
On receiving news of the incident fire department sent two vehicles however by the time the fire tenders arrive at the scene the vehicle was already burnt.
