IMPHAL, Feb 6: The District Magistrate, Imphal West district has imposed prohibitory order under section 144 Cr.P.C, in the entire area situated within the Imphal West district from 6pm of February 6 until further orders.
An order released by the concerned magistrate mentioned that assembly of five or more persons which is likely to turn unlawful in the area, carrying of sticks, stones, firearms and weapons of any other descriptions or object which can be used as offensive weapons within the said area has been prohibited.
However the order shall not apply to the agencies of the Government involved in the enforcement of law and the maintenance of essential service.
The order further mentioned that persons who want to take out processions for marriages, funeral and religious purposes etc within the scheduled area may apply to the undersigned for permission and the shall not take out procession until the permission is obtained.
