31 Assam Rifles celebrate 24th Raising Day

    Moreh, Feb 2:  The 24th Raising Day of 31 Assam Rifles was celebrated on 1st Feb 2011 was presently located at Moreh in Manipur. The unit was raised on 01 Feb 1987. During its 23 years of chequered history, the unit has performed with commendable grit and determination in all spheres of operations, training and administration.
    The unit has been awarded Chief of Army Staff Unit Citation in addition to the GOC-in-C Eastern Command Unit Citation making it one of the few units to boast of such rare honour and distinction. This has been made possible through the selfless efforts of the valiant soldiers of the unit who have won Three Shaurya Chakras, Six Sena Medals and a large number of other gallantry awards.  The unit celebrated the day with the local communities of Moreh and the people of this tinsel town prayed for the battalion and wished the unit many more laurels in future.
