AMSGO proposes new pay scales to end impasse

IMPHAL, Feb 25: All Manipur Student Guardians`™ Organization (AMSGO) has proposed new pay scales for the government school teachers of the state in an attempt to end the current impasse between the COTA and the state government.
Speaking to media-persons today, the working president of AMSGO, N Chaoba stated that the demand of COTA for the implementation of 6th revised pay is quite legitimate but at this crucial point of time the demand of the school teachers should be reduced to a little extent.
He said that the existing pay scale of a primary teacher is Rs 4500-125-7000, demand of COTA is Rs 6500-200-10500, state government`™s willingness is Rs 4500-125-7000 and the proposal of AMSGO is Rs 5000-150-8000.
The existing pay scale of a graduate teacher is Rs 4500-125-7000, demand of COTA is Rs 7450-225-11500, government`™s willingness is Rs 5500-175-9000 and the proposal of AMSGO is Rs 6500-200-10500.
In case of a lecturer, the existing pay scale is Rs 6500-200-10500, demand of COTA is Rs 7500-250-12000, government`™s willingness is Rs 7450-225-11500 and the proposal of AMSGO is Rs 7500-250-12000.
The proposal of AMSGO has been made in due consideration of both the COTA and the state government. The said proposal should be materialized by all concerned and end the impasse to ensure proper education to the students, Chaoba asserted.
The AMSGO also appealed to the government teachers not to abstain from examination duty of HSLC and HSSLC examinations in due consideration for the students who will be the future pillars of the society.
