IMPHAL, Feb 17: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), Thoubal district, today held a protest rally against price rise and fake encounter killings at Thoubal.

The BJP Thoubal district also submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur through DC Thoubal apprising him of the current issues of price rise and fake encounter killings.
In the memorandum, the BJP demanded control of the unabated price rise of essential commodities and petroleum products, proper implementation of MGNREGS scheme in the state without any misuse of fund, renewal of APL and BPL cards without further delay and immediate halt to fake encounter killings along with steps to streamline the activities of police.
Speaking to media-persons at the sideline of the protest rally, the president of BJP Thoubal district, L. Deben stated the issues of price rise and fake encounter killings in Thoubal district have never been redressed by the state government and as a result the people are suffering extremely.
The day-to-day fake encounter incidents carried out by security personnel have created a sense of fear psychosis in the minds of the people. The government has indeed failed to fulfill its responsibilities, he said.
The BJP will fight for the rights of the people until the demands are fulfilled, Deben enjoined.
