Ensuing Manipur Legislative Assembly session to have 16 sittings

IMPHAL, Feb 25: The 10th Session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly which is scheduled to start from March 8 next month till March 25 will have 16 seatings.
The meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Manipur Legislative Assembly chaired by the speaker I Hemochandra Singh in the presence of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh along with eight members of the committee today at the committee room of the Manipur Assembly Secretariat have discussed the business which are to be tabled before the ensuing 10th Session of the Ninth Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
According to an highly placed official source, the ensuing 10th session of the of the Manipur Legislative Assembly will initiate with the address of the state Governor in the house since the very session being first session of the year and there will be obituary reference and an ordinance (Paper to be laid) from the state government on the first day of the session.
The official source further mentioned that, the session will continue as there will be discussions on the Governor`™s address on March 9 and 10 in the house.
The 10th session of the Ninth Manipur Legislative Assembly which could be taken as semi budget session for the state government, will have the presentation of budget estimate 2011-12, presentation of supplementary demands for grants, 2010-2011 on March 14, further general discussion on supplementary demands for grants, 2010-11 discussion of and voting on supplementary grants 2010-11 and introduction of  Manipur Appropriation (No.1) Bill, 2011 will be done on March 15, The session will continue on March 15 with main business of general discussion on budget estimates, 2011-12, Introduction of  Government bill and consideration of passing of  the Manipur Appropriation (No. 1) Bill, 2011 on March 16.
The source further mentioned that, discussion and voting on demands for grants, 2011-12 and private members`™ resolution will be heard on March 17 and 18,  and seating will continue from March 21 as there will be discussion and voting on demands for grants, 2011-2012, consideration and passing of the government bills on March 21, there will be continuation of discussion and voting on demands for grants for, 2011-2012 on March 23 and 24 and there will be consideration and passing of the Manipur Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2011 and consideration and passing of Government Bills, 2011 and private member resolution on the last day of the sitting on March 25, the source added.
