FECTAM decides agitations against govt inaction

IMPHAL, Feb 12: A special general meeting of the Federation of College Teachers’ Association, Manipur (FECTAM) convened at GP Women College, Imphal, have decided to launched various forms of agitations from February 18 if the state government fails to implement their demands to implement revised UGC pay scales to the college teachers of the state.
According to a release of the association, the special meeting of the association has elaborately discussed the issues on the failures of the state government to implement the revised UGC pay scales to the college teachers of the state even after the rest of other state governments in country have implemented the said revised pay.
It was also decided to launched various forms of agitations including taking mass casual leave on February 18 and 19 and followed by mass sit-in-protest at various college campuses from February 21 till February 26 this month which will be followed finally with total cease work strike of the college teachers from February 28, the statement added.
