Give 20% rebate on electricity bill : STUDA

IMPHAL Feb 2: The Sekmaijin to Tokpaching Union of Development Agency (STUDA) ,Thoubal District in a press release by the publicity secretary of the Agency ,K Manihar Singh appeals the state government to give a 20 percent rebate on the power bills of the consumers of Kakching sub station.
The release states that Sekmaijin ,Thongam ,Phoubakchao ,Komlakhong and Arong Tera areas provided electricity by the Kakching sub station cannot clear their dues in totality as charges are worked out on compounded interest rates and a many households which are below the poverty line have bills amounting to Rs 20,000 to 30,000. The statement alleged that the government is also to blame for not working out a solution earlier as it would have been easier to both consumers and government if no due certificates were deemed necessary while admission is sought in schools or colleges. The statement also appealed the consumers to extend cooperation to the electricity department as much as possible.
