IMPHAL, Feb 5: The government school students under the banner All Manipur Government High and Higher Secondary Students’ Union Coordination Committee have decided to launch stern agitations from February 9 if the impasse between the state government and the COTA regarding the implementation of 6th revised pay is not solved by February 8.
Speaking to media-persons today at CC Higher Secondary School, the convenor of the coordination committee, Konthoujam Herojit stated that the stalemate between the teachers and the government has created much disturbance to the academic atmosphere even if some teachers are taking classes amidst tensions and distress.
The poor students in the government schools are suffering like anything with only few months left for the final board examinations. The government should bring a solution to end this impasse in kind consideration for the students, he said.
The convenor further maintained that the students neither support the government nor the teachers. They are just demanding their right to education and they will try to have their education at any cost.
The concerned authority should bring an amicable solution to the impasse before it really hurts the sentiments of the government school students of the state, he added.
