Medical Camp

IMPHAL, Feb 6: A  medical camp was organized by 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) at village Upper Khoripok on February, 6, 2011  by the  medical team led by the SMO and RMO along with 2 Staff Nurse, 5 Nursing Asst and 2 Female Attendant of 15 Assam Rifles.  
The medical camp was specially organized to reach out to the villagers of far flung areas who are devoid of availing good medical services and deprived of basic health facilities. The medical camp attended to the common ailment of the local populace such as Malaria, Typhoid, Fever, Dysentery, Common Cold, Helminthiasis (Worm infection) skin diseases, dental problems, anemia and respiratory diseases etc. A total of 269 patients from Upper Khoripok, Lairam Punga, Honbei and nearby villages turned up for the medical camp. Also A team of Medical officer and paramedical staff of 8 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South)  conducted a medical camp at Gelngai village on February, 4, 2011. A large number of patients from Gelngai and adjoining areas were diagnosed and provided medicines.
On another occasion, 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR (South), distributed drinking water to the Shangshak Khullen and Shangshak Khunao. Villages as villagers are facing acute scarcity of drinking water. The Assam Rifles is constructing water storage tanks in these remote areas. The work for the same is in full swing.
