Pangal Students’ Organization Manipur inspected CHC

    IMPHAL Feb 1: An apex body of the Muslim community, the Pangal Students’ Organization (PSO), Manipur alleged that the Community Health Centre at Lillong Haoreibi is not functioning properly and is devoid of proper infrastructure.
    A press release signed by Abdul Hakim, publicity secretary of the student body has stated that an inspection drive was carried out by the students on January 27 and 28 around Thoubal district in regard to functioning of medical facilities. It was found that the CHC at Lillong Haoreibi, having staff strength of 48 was found with only 11 staffs attending. The staff also come at noon and leave at 1 pm most of the time, according to the nearby residents of the CHC, the release said.
    Further, there are no beds at the CHC, when there should be 50 beds according to medical norms. PSO states that evidence has been gathered from the CHC to substantiate the claims made and appealed to the concerned to take up the necessary actions in the interest of the public within February 15, failing which the organization is set to launch protest, the release said.
