Professor selected for NCC officer rank

IMPHAL, Feb 8: For the first time in the history of Manipur, a young professor from Bishenpur college has brought laurels to the state. Prof Bhabhananda chose to join the ranks of Associated NCC Officers and voluntarily joined 14 Manipur Bn NCC. Like all other such volunteers, he was sent to NCC Officer’s Training Academy at Kamptee in Maharashtra, before he could be commissioned as an Associated NCC officer.
This young Manipuri professor of History decided to make a mark and excelled in all spheres of the training conducted at NCC OTA, Kamptee. The professor was granted his rank as Lt on termination of the course where he was adjudged as the Best Cadet and also awarded an A Grading for his outstanding performance during the course.
On his return to 14 Manipur Bn NCC as a young Lieutenant, he was involved actively in all the training activities of the Battalion and has proved to be a role model for all NCC Cadets both boys and girls. The young officer has recently been conferred with the status of being the Best Young NCC officer of the NE. Brig BS Sambyal the DDG has commended the young Lt and wished him the very best in all his future endeavours in the NCC.
