IMPHAL, Feb 18: A combined forces comprising of 33 Assam Rifles of Logtak Brigade under Red Shield Division, and Thoubal Police Commandos claimed to have arrested an over ground worker of the proscribed PLA militant on February 13, informed a statement issued by the PIB Defense Wing.
It said the individual is identified as one Ningthoujam Chaothi alias Tomba, 49, s/o (late) N Iboton, resident of Nongmaikhong Awang Leikai, Thoubal District who was arrested from Nongmaikhong Makha Leikai.
The individual revealed that he is an active over ground worker of PLA and was involved in extortion related activities for the outfit.
Two magazines of M-4A Carbine, one magazine of M-16 Rifles and one magazine of G-3 Rifle were also recovered in the operation. The individual has been handed over to the Waikhong Police Station, said the release.
