The tyranny of SPF govt will soon come to an end: MP

IMPHAL, Feb 19: The victory of Trinamool Congress at the recent bye-election of Konthoujam assembly constituency is the first step towards new revolutionary changes in the state, said the election observer of Trinamool Congress NE in-charge and MP of Rajya Sabha, KD Singh during a public meeting held today at Konthoujam.
The Trinamool leader further stated that the people of Konthoujam have stood against the Congress-led SPF government and its tyrant rule will soon come to an end.
The verdict of the people at Konthoujam bye-election has clearly manifested the futility of money and muscle power at the time of elections. It is the honesty and dedication of leaders that is important in building up a society, KD Singh noted.
He said that the Trinamool Congress will set up candidates in all 60 constituencies of the state in the coming general election and bring new changes and development in the state right from the grass-root level.
The Trinamool Congress is ever ready to go with any like-minded political party of the state in the real interests of the people, the MP noted.
He also said that the party will spearhead in taking up various issues of the state such as AFSPA and insurgency problems to the Parliament.
The president of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress, Kim Gangte stated that the people of Konthoujam have become the beacon light of new constructive changes in the society. The courageous people of Konthoujam have overcome fear of the tyrant rulers and cast their votes for Trinamool Congress with deep faith in the party`™s ideology of `development from the grass-root`.
She said that the party stands for women empowerment and it will promote income generating self-help groups and cottage industries for the womenfolk of the state.
The Trinamool Congress is for the suppressed and downtrodden people of the society and it will work for the development of hill and rural areas of the state which have been reeling under the apathy of the present state government, Kim averred.
The newly elected MLA of Konthoujam assembly constituency, K. Sharat stated that during his short tenure of about 10 months he will try to deliver at least 70 to 80 percent of PDS items to the people who have been deprived of such benefits by the past representatives of the constituency.
He further maintained that he will act as a responsible opposition to bring real developmental changes in the state.
