    IMPHAL, Feb 3: The Manipur State AIDS control society has successfully organized 3 batches of 1 day training of volunteers on Inter Personal communication from February 1 to 3 as a part of the Multi Media campaign at the Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak.
    Hundreds of volunteers from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan from all districts of Manipur took part in the programme.
    The objective of the training was to mobilize youth by instilling knowledge of inter personal communication. The trained volunteers will conduct small group discussion in their respective localities to spread the message of HIV prevention. The volunteers were trained in the areas of basics of HIV, vulnerability of youth regarding HIV and AIDS, testimonial sharing by person living with HIV/AIDS, life skill and on inter personal communication.
    The opening ceremony was graced by N. Saratchandra Singh, president India AIDS consortium as guest of honour and J. Ruivah, Zonal Director NYKS as president of the function.
    The training programme was taken by imminent resource persons namely Dr. Kh. Pramodkumar Singh, State Leprosy officer, Government of Manipur, Dr. M. Birchandra Singh, district AIDS control officer, Imphal East, Dr. L.R Kom, Deputy Director MACS, H. Pradeep Kumar Singh, Consultant Youth, MACS and Kh. Babita Devi, UNDP, SPO.
    The participants also got a chance to interact with Kh. Pradipkumar (Mr. Manipur and Brand Ambassador of MACS).
