Trinamool determined to make thumping victory

IMPHAL, Feb 6: The Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress is determined to install its first MLA by making a thumping victory at the ensuing bye-election of Konthoujam assembly constituency.
The leaders of different political parties who attended the flag-hoisting ceremony of Trinamool Congress candidate Konthoujam Sharat today expressed firm determination to crush both the Congress and independent candidates at the ensuing bye-election by a huge margin.
The vice-president of BJP Manipur State Unit, Prof. Tiken stated that the frustrated and aggrieved people under the decades long Congress rule have finally formed a unified force to overthrow the Congress Party right from the ensuing Konthoujam bye-election.
The misrule of the present Congress led SPF government has resulted in underdevelopment and gross violation of human rights in the state. Many issues and much uproar from the public had occurred mostly during the nine years’ rule of SPF government which would otherwise be regarded as “nine years’ devastation” in the present context of Manipur, he asserted.
Prof. Tiken further maintained that the Congress Party has adopted very unethical political strategy of winning votes from the people by threatening the weaker sections, especially who are working as state employees under the government.
He said that the Congress Party has threatened to sack the Anganwadi workers of Konthoujam if they do not cast votes in their favour, and added the Congress Party is a band of smugglers and contractors whose business is to extract as much money as they can from the people.
The president of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress, Kim Gangte stated that the Trinamool Party has taken birth in the state with a vision to end the division between hill and valley people which will be achieved only through development right from the grass-root level.

She said that the years long Congress rule in the state has brought no significant change except for underdevelopment and degrading law and order situation. The people must join hands with the Trinamool Congress and other like-minded political parties such as BJP and MPP to crush the Congress Party to end their misrule in the state, Kim enjoined.
She further appealed to the people of Konthoujam to support K. Sharat not only as the candidateof Konthoujam but also for the whole state. The victory of Trinamool Congress in this bye-election will be the beacon light for a developed and welfare Manipur state, the state Trinamool president added.
The representative of the election observer of Trinamool Congress, Paramjit Kaur stated that the time has come for the people to take a right decision and make good judgement for the future of a developed and welfare society.
She further stated that the national leaders of the Trinamool Congress, especially Mamta Banerjee, are very much concerned with Manipur and they are trying their best to render utmost help and support to the people.
The Trinamool Congress believes in social work and it has been working wholeheartedly for the welfare of the common people, Paramjit averred.
The former Chief Minister and chairman of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress, RK Dorendro said that the state Trinamool Congress has decided to fight against the Congress Party not just to secure a seat at the state legislative assembly but to fight for justice for the people of the state who have been deprived of their basic amenities and development by the Congress government for quite a long period of time.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was also attended by Sh. Shantikumar Sharma, president of BJP Manipur State Unit, Kh. Ibomcha, general secretary of MPP, Y.
