UKLF welcomes cease fire of HPC-D and Mizoram Government

IMPHAL, Feb 13: The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) welcomes the cease fire agreement and resumption of peace talk between the government of Mizoram and the Hmar People’s Convention Democratic (HPC-D) at Mizoram State Guest House, Aizawl on November, 13, 2010.
A statement issued by the Commander in chief of the outfit, SS Haokip, appealed both the Government of Mizoram and the Hmar People’s Convention Democratic (HPC – D) to sincerely take the “peace dialogue” to its logical end for a lasting peace, development and harmonious Co-existence among the Chin-Kuki-Mizo fraternity in Mizoram in particular and elsewhere in general.
History had testified it that no particular group of community from the Chikim fraternity could remain aloof from the political aspiration of any group of the CHIKIM fraternity whether it is for Mizoram, Chin (Myanmar) or Manipur for that matter, it said.
It further appeal to the Government of Mizoram and to all the right thinking CHIKIM brothers and sisters particularly in Mizoram to extend their bit of contribution in fostering unity and fraternity among the CHIKIM group residing in the state of Manipur so that  “ the ongoing Suspension of Operation between the Government of Manipur, the Government of India on one side and armed Kuki UGs under the umbrella of the United People’s Front (UPF) and Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and subsequent “political dialogue” to its logical end.
