YMA to organize Annual Conference

Lamka, Feb 8: The Young Mizo Association, YMA, Manipur Group, is organising an annual conference from tommorrow at Saikawt which is to conclude on the 10th of this month.
The conference will be attended by Lalthara IAS Chief Secretary Nagaland,PC Lawmkunga Addl CS Manipur , Ms Jacintha Lazurus IAS DC/Ccpur Tlangtinkhuma IAS SDO Singngat as theChief guest, functional president , guest of honour and then the chief Host.
The agriculture of land is shrinking day by day due to evergrowing human population. He revealed that of the total 35 thousand hectors of agricultural land the number has been reduced to 32 thousand hectors currently.
Due to the shrinking Agriculture land the State depends on imported products however to cut down the imported quantity and with the motive to ensure self sustainability the department has launched many project using innovative technology along with various farmers’ body.
He appealed all sections not to misuse the Agriculture land instead use for agricultural means.
A cyclist Kh. Lukhoi, who took part in the rally revealed that the reason for his participations is to solely save the Agriculture land as the situation is becoming very alarming.
According to the president of LOUSAL, Ranjit maintained amidst the food security campaign world wide the situation is grim in Manipur and the objective is to prevent the evergrowing encroachment of Agricultural land on the pretext of development.
It is worth noting that of the over 23 lakhs total populations only 4,93,135 Lakhs are agricultural labours and cultivator as per the 2001 census.
