IMPHAL, Mar 12: A one day awareness programme on Right to Education (RTE) was held at Tampha Lairembi School, Wangoo, jointly organized by Bharat Sevak Samaj, Manipur state branch and Manipur Alliance for Child Rights, Manipur.
The awareness programme was grace by A. Kokil Singh, headmaster Wangoo High School, as chief guest, A. Dilip Singh principal Wangoo Tampha Lairembi School, as functional president, S. Paokholal, co-ordinator, Bridge of Hope, Wangoo, K. Pradipkumar Singh, Convenor, Manipur Alliance for Child Rights and A. Chinglemba Meetei, Co-ordinator, CCRP as the guest of honours of the function respectively.
The motive of the awareness campaign is to wash out the failure of education which stands as the major cause for an assortment of social issues in which children are ever dragged into as innocent victims of child trafficking, child labour, child prostitution, child soldiers and many other child rights violation cases. On the other hand, a failed education system is considered to be the most perceptible manifestation of enduring ill-governance, economic injustice, corrupt system, hostile environment etc. for that reasons, standard of education is being taken as the benchmark of development and social wellbeing of a nation.
