While interacting with media persons there, Sharmila said that “India is a democratic country and I want the privilege of enjoying my rights of being a citizen of a democratic nation”. She lamented that arresting and confining a person alienates her thoughts of being a citizen of the country.
Strongly adhering to her previous stand, Sharmila vowed to continue her fast until her demand is fulfilled. She further expressed that the visit of the President does not make any difference to her.
According to her point of view she observed that all politicians are like businessmen and expressed her desire to bring a change to it.
