IMPHAL, Mar 17: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the murder of social worker Yengkhom Krishnadas of Kakching in 2009 has expressed discontentment over delayed investigation into the murder case.
Krishnadas was killed by some unidentified persons after he was abducted from his father-in-law’s residence at Thangmeiband on the night of June 10, 2009.
Speaking to media-persons today at Manipur Press Club, the wife of deceased Krishnadas, Y Bimola said that the concerned authority has not conducted the investigation of the murder case properly rather it is trying to destroy the facts and evidences of the case.
She further stated that the Chief Minister himself had assured to take up action against the culprits but so far there is no concrete action on the part of the state government.
The very inaction of the concerned authority shows that the case has been apparently closed. Moreover, the press statement of KCP which revealed that MLA Y Surchandra was the mastermind in the murder case has created much confusion to the aggrieved family members, Bimola averred.
She said that the JAC suspects MLA Surchandra’s hand behind the murder as his workers often tried to thwart the meetings of the JAC. The accused lady Ashalata who was arrested by the police for taking the ransom money of Rs 25 lakhs has also been set free thereby revealing the hands of some powerful persons behind this heinous murder, she noted.
The JAC further demanded the state government to bring out the truth in the murder of Y Krishnadas and punish the culprits as per the law.
