IMPHAL March 30: A man sustained critical injuries in a grenade explosion. The injured person is identified as one Laishram Ratan Singh,45, s/o late Irabot of Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai.
The incident took place when Ratan was strolling in his courtyard at about 6 pm today , As he was walking towards the gate, an explosion hurled him off his feet and he sustained multiple shrapnel injuries from the blast. He is presently hospitalized at RIMS and his condition is stated to be serious. Ratan is the headmaster of the Kwakeithel Primary School.
His wife ,L Nirmala told media persons that there are no threats from any outfits to Ratan personally ,nor any demands to the school. Condemning the incident, she demanded clarification from the responsible outfit and the mindless violence perpetrated at her residence.
