One model school each has been established in all nine districts : CM

IMPHAL, Mar 16: Altogether nine model schools have been established with one school each in all nine districts of the state, stated Chief Minister Okram Ibobi today while replying to a query MLA L Nandakumar during the question and answer hour of the ongoing 10th Session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Chief Minister stated that the model schools have been set up under strict guidelines and norms. The model schools are Keishamthong High School in Imphal West, Wangkhei High School in Imphal East, Ningthoukhong High School in Bishnupur, Lamding High School in Thoubal, Liwachangning High School in Chandel, Gandhi Memorial High School in Churachandpur, Raphei High School in Senapati and Model Village High School in Tamenglong.
Replying to a query of MLA O Joy regarding the remuneration of contract lecturers, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that excess drawal on account of payment of Rs 13, 700 will be recovered in excess of Rs 8000 per month.
Further, answering to a question raised by MLA Awangbow with regard to upgradation of high schools under RMSA, Chief Minister stated thart Langmei High School and New Keiphundai High School have been approved for upgradation to Higher Secondary Schools.
Replying to a query raised by MLA N Mangi regarding the water supply schemes being taken up in Kumbi A/C, PHED Minister TN Haokip stated that Ithai water supply scheme, Pombikhok water supply scheme and Wathalambi water supply scheme will be commissioned by March 2011.
The estimated cost of Kumbi, Oinam and Kwakta water supply schemes are Rs 208.90 lakhs, Rs 230 lakhs and Rs 206.11 lakhs respectively.
In response to a query raised by MLA Morung Makunga, power minister Phungzathang stated that 398 villages in Chandel district are covered under RGGVY and so far 353 villages have been electrified.
