SF arrest three UG cadres

IMPHAL, March 10: Security forces arrested at least three militant cadres from separate counter insurgency operations launched at different parts of the state.
In the first incident, a combined team of Imphal East district Police commandos and 28 Assam Rifles arrested two cadres of United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) today at around 12:30 pm from New Checkon Bazaar, said a press release issued by the office of the SP Imphal East district Police.
The individuals have been identified as Sesem Singshit, 27, s/o Paoshal Singshit of Motbung and Henlalmoni Kipgen, 29, s/o Sekho Kipgen of Kholminnom Village.
It said that twenty numbers of extortion notes of the outfit were recovered from their possession. And on verification they disclosed that they joined UTLA organization in the month of December 2010 through one Seiboi of the outfit. At the same time they further disclosed that they were taking shelter at the residence of Paokhochon Singson of Tribal Colony and to be involved in extortion of money from the general public, government officials, businessmen etc, added the release.
On the other hand, a combined team of 23 Assam Rifles and 39 Assam Rifles arrested a cadre of the UNPC militant from Lamlao area yesterday, informed a statement of the PRO IGAR (S).
It said that discovering the movement of UG cadres in the general area Lamlai, the combined team launched operation in the area and apprehended one UNPC cadre at around 12.30 am on March 9.
The apprehendee was identified as Ramroi Sharimol, 30 years, s/o Ramroi Kaireping of Balawa, Tamenglong and was handed over to Lamlai Police station.
