Two days Health Mela concludes

From KaimuanthangLAMKA March  29: The two days Health Mela organised by the District Health Mission Society since yesterday at Tuilaphai located along the Tipaimukh road has concluded today.
During the Mela stalls to administer treatment of sicknesses like leprosy, testing of HIV/AIDS, TB, family planning, imparting knowledge for intake of nutritional diets, Ayush, media cells, blindness, eye, IEC, Labs besides others were opened.
Organised in a gigantic manners with a budget estimate of Rs 5 Lakhs , there was a huge  turn out of people from the nearby villages and its surrounding areas. Sources from an employee of the NRHM maintained that altogether about 1500 people came and consulted doctors at the health camp and were given medicine free of cost.
The NRHM programme managers Khuala Vaiphei has said 15 doctors of various specialties, 56 paramedics and another from management staffs numbering 11 were utilized during the health mela.
Most of the villagers seeking medical treatment in these remote parts of the country where there are no proper medical facilities thronged the general medicine stalls. The Ayush stalls also drew many people.
Another sources stated that HIV/AIDS test were conducted but no positive cases was detected.
Additional director of Family Welfare Society , Manipur Dr W Gulapi while talking to the press on the sidelines of the camp said such a camp was a yearly programme and also expressed his happiness to see the good response from the general public.
He said it is a composite programmes where all sorts of facilities are provided and will be organise in the days to come also so as to promote knowledge of a healthy living to the people.
The department has organsied 12 RCH camp so far and is venturing to held 6 DMMU camps this year out of which 4 has already been held including the one held at Tuilaphai.
