Youth cultural festival inaugurated

IMPHAL, March 2:  The inaugural function of the `State Level Yuva Kriti and Cultural Festival`Âť was held at the youth hostel Khuman Lampak, Imphal, organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Imphal, Zone (Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India).
The State level function was inaugurated by MLA W. Brajabidhu Singh who also graced the function as chief guest. While Dr. K. Sobita Devi, Director Art and Culture Government of Manipur, attended as the functional president and J. Ruivah, Zonal Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Imphal, as guest of honour.
The Cultural function which commence from today will conclude on March 4.
While addressing the gathering the chief guest said that such festivals is organised not only in Manipur but throughout the country with the motive to promote and explore the talents of the Youths and also to preserve the ancient culture and traditions of the country.
The programme also  provide a platform for spreading the message of peace and communal harmony and share it amongst communities residing in the state where the youths of the present generation has an important role to play to bring peace in the state, maintained the MLA.
14 representatives each from every district of the state took part in the festival, besides showcasing various traditional handicraft products, cultural competitions which comprises of cultural songs, folk songs and dances etc, will mark the festival.
