IMPHAL, April 19: Separate team of Imphal East District Police Commandos apprehended at least three cadres belonging to different banned organization KCP during their continuous counter insurgency operations conducted since last two days.
According to an official source, a team of Imphal East district police commandos arrested one cadre of KCP (MC) identified as Ningthoukhongjam Sushil alias Ingo alias Isingchaoba Singh, 30, son of N Damu of Langthabal Kunja from Kiyamgei Maning Leikai near Heibong Makhong High School area this morning around 8 am during search operation and able to recovered one 9mm pistol containing a magazine loaded with five live rounds from his possession. Besides, police during their preliminary verification it has been known that the arrested person is an active member of KCP (MC) Tamnganba group.
In yet another incident, another team of Imphal East district police commandos arrested two cadres of underground KCP identified as Potsangbam Indrakumar Singh, 33, son of P Chaoba Singh of Pangei Bazar and Takhellambam Ojen Singh, 52, son ofT Tomcha Singh of Langdum Makha Leikai Khunou from Lamboiching foothill on April 16 afternoon around 2pm during the specific search operations conducted by the team on getting information over the presence of UGs into the areas.
The official source also mentioned that, the police have conducted their official verifications to the arrested persons and it has been known from the arrested Potsangbam Indrakumar Singh that he was an active sympathizer of the KCP organization and he is now working as an active member under the command of one Pakhangba alias Khaba alias Ibomcha of the outfit and the arrested persons were reportedly involved in extortion of money from Panthoibi Auto Driver Association, Pangei Bazar recently, the official source added.
