IMPHAL April 9: Security forces apprehended 7 underground cadres of different US organizations including a woman cadre in different search operations.
The Imphal West police commandos in two separate incidents apprehended four members of People`™s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) on April 8.
One cadre of PREPAK was apprehended by the Imphal West police commandos from Phayeng Junction of Kangchup road at about 11:30 am yesterday morning along with one 9 mm pistol along with three live rounds. S. Ibocha, DSP of Imphal west police in a press meet today morning told media persons that the apprehended cadre is identified as Laithangbam Kabocha (28) @ Thoiba s/o L. Raghumani from Heirangoithong Jagannath Leirak. He disclosed that he joined PREPAK through one Kokai, 2nd lieutenant of the party in the year 2004 and is presently working under a s/s sergeant major of the party called Rajesh.
In another incident yesterday evening at around 6:30 pm, three more cadre of PREPAK were apprehended at Shija hospital crossing, Langol. They were identified as Ningthoujam Nongthomba (38) s/o N. Babuyaima, Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai at present residing at Langol Ningthounai, Phairenbam Jugeshwor (44) s/o (L) Ph. Maichon, Moirang Phairenbam Leikai at present residing at Langol Ningthounai and Tongbram Boy (27) @ Robindro s/o T. Labango, Lalambung Makhong.
Three of them joined PREPAK about three months back through sergeant major Rajesh and is working under him. They further disclosed that they were involved in a bomb attack along with sergeant major Rajesh at a place in Uripok Tourangbam Leikai recently. They were also involved in various cases of monetory demands to different.
Three cadres of the KCP (MC) Nongdrenkhomba/Taibanganba group including a woman were apprehended in various search operations conducted by Bishnupur police between March 17 to April 8. This was stated in a press meet by Jayanta, SP, Bishnupur police today.
They were identified as Angom Ibochouba (32) @ Lanchenba @ Punshiba s/o Anhom Ibomcha, Ningthoukhong Radha Mandop Mamang ward no. 9, Angom Ningol Khundrakpam Ongbi Memcha (37) w/o Kh. Radhamohon and Angom Tomba (25) @ Longjamba @ Inaoton s/o A. Ibomcha, Moirang Khoiru Leikai.
According to police sources, Ibochouba and Ibemcha were arrested when they were attempting to abduct Ningthoujam Jayanta, Assistant Project Officer of DRDA, Bishnupur Ward no 7 for ransom in the afternoon of March 17 in collusion with Ningthoujam Romen Singh @ Nongdrenkhomba @ RK (32) s/o N. Ibotomba Singh of Kumbi Thingel Leikai and Haobijam Dilip @ Dingku @ Taibanganba (40) s/o (L) H. Kunjabi of Bishnupur Mamang Leikai Ward no. 11 who are based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
As disclosed by Ibochouba, he had surrendered to IGAR (south) and DGP on June 14 last year as a cadre of KCP(MC). Ibemcha and Tomba were involved in the killing of Khundrakpam Tomba, Security of Aircel, Nachou near Naranseina canal after he was abducted on February 10.
Thoubal police commandos while conducting frisking near YK college, Wangjimg apprehended one member of PULF (Umar farooq) yesterday morning at about 10:30 am. The cadre is identified as Md. Rafizuddin (27) s/o Md. Ayazuddin, Sora Mamang Leikai. On further investigation, Rafizuddin disclosed that he is an active member of PULF Umar Farooq group and working in te finance section according to the press statement by SP of Thoubal today morning.
