IMPHAL, April 13: The Road Opening Party (ROP) of the Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh came under attack at North AOC while the CM was heading back to his official residence after attending surrendering programme of militant at the IGAR (S) in the morning today.
According to official sources, the incident occurred around 11:30 am. The ROP team, a reserved line of Imphal West district police was stationed near Namthilok (locally known) North AOC keeping vigil for the Chief Minister was in mid way from the IGAR (S) to his bungalow.
Without any warning a miscreant armed with small arm fired two shots towards the ROP team and fled the scene.
The miscreant however managed to escape and there was no retaliation from the side of police, said the sources.
No casualty was reported in the alleged attack.
