The blast shattered glass window panes of Manitombi`™s residence however no one was injured. Decrying the incident, localities staged a sit in protest at Mayanglangjing Akham Leikai, under Lamsang police station. Police later recovered the detonator from the gate of Manitombi.
In anoter incident, a bomb was found at the residence of Sorokhaibam Saroja (52), Deputy Director of the state Veterinary department from Lamboikhongna-ngkhong under Lamphel police station this morning. According to Saroja, an anonymous caller had informed her that a bomb had been placed in her residence. Police later recovered the bomb.
Another grenade was lobbed at the Kwakeithel Awang Leikai residence of one Konthoujam Dhaneshor at around 6.30 pm today. Dhaneshor is a retired A E of the Manipur Development Society.
